Make Sure You Don’t Get Stranded With Towing Coverage

Whether you’re stuck in the snow, stranded due to a dead battery or involved in an accident, you want help – and you want it fast.

Towing reimbursement coverage helps you avoid tow truck bills

Towing coverage is available from Nationwide if you already have comprehensive car insurance. It provides reimbursement for towing expenses from the location your vehicle stopped. Because towing companies typically charge per mile to the repair shop, this optional coverage can help you avoid a bill that could easily exceed $100.

It can cover labor costs at the site of your breakdown, too

Towing reimbursement insurance may also cover the cost of labor to get your car up and running again. This includes changing your tire, delivering gas to your location or installing a new battery. Keep in mind that this coverage doesn’t include the cost of the parts — only the labor to have them properly installed.

There are limits to towing coverage

Ask your agent about how much you’ll be reimbursed for various situations. Typically, you’re allowed only a designated number of claims per year, too. For this reason, you should try to avoid making preventable mistakes like locking your keys in the car or running out of gas.
